Has Candy Lost Her Mind?

Yesterday, Candy mentioned an economic crash.
I just turned on the TV and low and behold, there was a news report on, saying that many experts are now saying that they believe that the market is indeed crashing. They don't mean just the US market either - but the world market.

Stock up in preparation for the worst, and pray for the best.

She has some good advice:
Think basics - use ALL bones from chicken, beef, lamb, game, ect. Use the bones to make gelatin-rich broths and stocks. Use the stocks as "poor man's meat" to mix in with beans, lentils, and other legumes.

And some questionable advice:
Baking soda or salt can be used as a rubbing solution for cleaning the body, if there is no soap around.

Just so you know, a most basic soap can be made with TWO ingredients: lye and tallow. Lye is made from wood ashes and water. This link is my little gift to you. You'll thank me in the post-Apocolyptic desert that America will become, thanks to the New World Order. You'll be the only person that doesn't stink.

Anyway, today she's freaking out about the Mark of the Beast.

Meanwhile, technology has been developed, and is waiting on the wings, which is a microchip the size of a grain of rice, which is designed to be put under the skin of the hand. This microchip can hold lots of information, and can be used as an ID, to hold medical records, and as a credit card. Electrical readers for this microchip are already designed and fully operational.

Now Candy believes that Once Saved, Always Saved, as long as you know that you know that you know that you are saved. If someone is saved, and they take the rice microchip/mark of the Beast, does that "undo" their salvation? Will Christ's blood not cover that?

If we go to a world currency, I believe it will cause the Crash of all crashes. The world will be starving as per Revelation 6:5-6. The economy will struggle until about mid 2010, when the grain of rice microchip will be introduced. A world-wide jubili will be proclaimed. All debts forgiven. The world monitary system will be rebooted. All people will be given the same amout of credit on their microchips, and everyone will start on an equal footing. The ultimate socialism.
Revelation 6:5-6, KJV
5When the Lamb opened the third seal, I heard the third living creature say, "Come!" I looked, and there before me was a black horse! Its rider was holding a pair of scales in his hand. 6Then I heard what sounded like a voice among the four living creatures, saying, "A quart[a] of wheat for a day's wages,[b] and three quarts of barley for a day's wages,[c] and do not damage the oil and the wine!"
I think Candy is naive to think we will have a world currency any time in the near future (other than straight up gold, that seems to be acceptable everywhere. It does weigh one down, however.)

Although, I got pizza last night and the restaurant had a sign in the window (in Spanish) proclaiming "Welcome to the country! Pesos accepted here!" Maybe the peso is already starting to take over our monetary system!

What does Socialism have to do with the end times, anyway? Is there some bible verse I don't know about that condemns it?

Yesterday, Candy seemed moderate. From her comments:
Holly, remember that story about the man in the flood, who didn't leave, when a boat or helecopter came for him? He kept saying that he was waiting on God. Well, he drowned. He asked God why He didn't help him, and God said that He DID. God sent him a boat and a helecopter, but the man refused them both.

The Lord is leading me to stock up, and He is leading me on what and how to stock up. This is a beautiful thing. I don't know if I'll need this for tribulation, or maybe more bad ice storms coming this winter that may leave us with no electricity or ability to get out, etc.

I just know that I'm supposed to have a stocked pantry, cupboards, and freezer, so I'm doing what I know I'm supposed to do.

I am not one iota scared of a stock market crash, or of another depression. I know God is with me, and I feel 100% peace.

Don't take the mark. Don't take the mark. Don't take the mark.
What mark is she talking about? The Mark of the Beast, Rev. 13:15-18, KJV

15And he had power to give life unto the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed.

16And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads:

17And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.

18Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six.

The Mark of the Beast has been a favorite topic of conspiracy theorists for ages and ages. Here is an ironic commentary from the 6th century:

The beast that rises from the earth stands for pride in earthly glory; and the fact that it has two horns like a lamb means that its hypocritical sanctity makes it appear to have wisdom, whereas only the Lord has true wisdom.
Hmmm...pride. Hypocritical sanctity... hmmm...

(Don't you just love Google? I'm so much smarter now.)

In Fundamental extremist circles, the Mark is a microchip, tattoo of a barcode, or some other permanent body part.

I don't understand why she is so paranoid. Candy has said, more than once, that she feels the rapture will happen at the 7th trumpet call. The 7th trumpet is sounded in Rev. chapter 11 - before the beast shows up. What's she worried about?

Amusing side note: in the time it took me to type up this post, Candy approved and posted two comments. Is 10:30 am Central time her standard, scheduled computer time? Could she *possibly* be off schedule? Can't wait for her post on internet and computer time!
